Biannual conference series
Research Through Design (RTD) is an international biannual conference series set up an experimental conference that supports the dissemination of practice-based design research. Set up in 2013 by Jayne Wallace and Joyce Yee, RTD supports a more discursive, synergistic setting that places the presentation of designed artefacts at the heart of proceedings through an exhibition and round table discussions in the ‘Rooms of Interests’. Past conferences have been held at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Delft.
The conference has fostered and supported a burgeoning “research through design” academic community and to provide a fitting dialogical dissemination platform for this community. We hope that the conference will encourage academic communities to give proper consideration to the concept of design as a knowledge-generating activity.
