Helen is a Lecturer on the Multidisciplinary Innovation undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and a Senior Researcher on the Creative Fuse project. Her professional background was in digital innovation in the field of emerging technologies (including distributed ledgers, artificial intelligence and extended reality). Since joining Northumbria in 2020 she has developed research interests are around innovation and creativity in social enterprise and the charity sector. Helen is particularly interested in community-based projects which empower people to improve their lives through new skills and grassroots projects. She is passionate about inclusivity, diversity and equity and enjoys designing the environments where diverse communities can gather and work together. Outside of work, Helen is mum to three children, enjoys nature, volunteering, crafting and following her innate curiosity.
