Phil has a rich history in Human Computer Interaction, Internet of Things, Informatics, Data Visualisation, Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality and Games.

He began his career as a game developer focusing on AI and graphics, then moved into academia where he managed Newcastle University’s VR facility for 10+ years and a Fabrication Lab for 3+ years.

He obtained his PhD in 2015 in Educational Technology. Since then, he has worked on a range of projects from Medical Informatics to Internet of Things.

He is working on the hiCraft project, exploring the links between Internet of Things and Digital Health.
