My Doctoral research explores the way in which design and archival activities might document and preserve the experiences of women and queer people within grassroots football and fan spaces. The activities of this research include participatory design workshops with grassroots football players and fans, and rapid archiving in footballing spaces to plug the gaps that exist within football archives of women’s and queer football. I am particularly interested in design created by non-professional designers that harness the situated knowledge of players and fans.
