Crowdsourcing Technologies for Product Design and Development

This research project was funded by Innovate UK focusing on crowdsourcing platform for product design and development in partnership with industry. It was based on prior EPSRC funded project ” Prototyping Open Innovation Models for ICT-Enabled Manufacturing in Food and Packaging” (Prof Qin-CO-I). This project was also followed up by a Collaborative PhD research projected funded by China Scholarship Council. This project first explored key barriers and opportunities in adopting crowdsourcing based new product development in manufacturing SMEs and then identified and feasibly evaluated enabling crowdsourcing platform and design technologies for product development.
