Microsoft Research Cambridge Sabbatical Project exploring ways that technology can support a sense of home within the residential care home. This project was a collaboration with Dr Sian Lindley within the Human Experience Design (HXD) group. We worked with a group of amazing women living in a residential care home in the UK using cocreative design probe methods that enabled much discussion, design insights and ideas. The project culminated in a series of objects to be used in the care home that we all made together and that represented things that were important for the women. The project led to a presentation of shared insights to Microsoft Research, a book chapter, a journal article and a Global Microsoft Studentship award.
